Summer Camps

Join us this summer for kids clay camps at Crawford Island Art! Immerse yourself in a world of creativity and exploration as we embark on exciting adventures from 9am-noon and/or noon-3pm. Each week is themed, allowing young artists to draw out their concepts and bring them to life. Get ready for a thrilling experience as we also visit the splash pad and nearby playgrounds, concluding each week with fun-filled Crawford Island backyard games! July 6th-10th, 9am-Noon: Make your Pet for the Washington County Fair!  
Unleash your artistic talent in this camp as we create an animal masterpiece for submission to the Washington County Fair! We’ll provide guidance on capturing the perfect shape by taking photos of your pet from different angles. Get ready for an unforgettable experience as you fill out entry forms and showcase your creation to the judges. As a bonus, every submission receives a free admission to the fair, and if you win a ribbon, you’ll receive a check in the mail! Last year, we proudly earned several blue ribbons.

July 13th-17th, 9am-Noon Dragon Camp 
Dragon eggs, nests and Dragons, OH MY!!! In this delightful camp, children will create large dragon eggs and nexts to put them in.  We will also design our dragons, complete with their super powers!  Each day we will take breaks for snack and outdoor fun, maybe even a trip to the splash pad to cool down! Join us for a week of great creativity!

July 20th-24th, 9am-Noon: American Girl 
Travel back in time with your dolls and creativity at our American Girl camp! Experience the joy of traditional childhood play as it was 100 years ago. We’ll cook over the campfire, learn the art of hand sewing, and create toys reminiscent of simpler times. Each day, we’ll take breaks to play with our dolls and cool off at the splash pad. Get ready for a week filled with enchantment and nostalgia!

July 27th-31st, 9am-Noon: Under the Sea – SOLD OUT!!!
Dive deep into a world of marine wonders at our Under the Sea camp! From crafting sea turtles and clown fish vases to designing sea creature mugs, this camp is packed with creativity and fun. And of course, we’ll continue to enjoy outdoor adventures and cooling off at the splash pad. Join us for an unforgettable aquatic journey!

August 3rd-7th, 9am-Noon: Lighthouse Night Lights and Pirate Ships
Embrace your inner adventurer as we construct lighthouse night lights and pirate ships in this thrilling camp! Brick by brick, we’ll build majestic lighthouses and then sail away with our pirate ships. Get ready for an action-packed week of clay creations and endless excitement!

August 10th-14th, 9am-Noon: Tick Tock Clock Camp
Get hands-on with time itself as you design and create your very own ceramic clock! We’ll explore cool clocks from around the world, dream up fun designs based on each artist’s imagination, and bring them to life in clay. Along the way, we’ll play interactive games to crack the code of analog clocks—so by the end of camp, our artists will be time-telling pros (no more “what time is it?” 😉). It’s creative, it’s playful, and it’s right on time!

Aug 17th-21st, 9am-Noon: Glow Crazy! Ceramic Lamp Camp

Let your creativity shine! Campers ages 5+ will design and create their very own ceramic lamp using fun shapes, textures, and imagination. We’ll explore light, color, and glowing designs while turning clay into something bright and magical. This camp is all about creativity, fun, and making art that lights up!

Afternoon Pottery Camps Noon-3pm (3rd grade and up)
Come join Pottery Camp, where you can learn the art of throwing pottery on the wheel! We believe that pottery is a challenging craft, but our main goal is to make it a fun and enjoyable experience for everyone. Embrace failure as a part of the learning process and watch as you develop the skills to center clay, pull walls, and create beautiful bowls, vases, and even mugs. Discover the joy of clay and let your creativity take shape at Em’s Art Shack, the home of pottery magic.
