Salt Pigs (Salt Cellars)

There are many variations of Salt Pigs or Salt Cellars to keep your salt countertop handy in the kitchen. Once your family and friends see your handmade salt pig in action, you know they’re going to want one. Luckily, there may be enough time to make more than one during this workshop! This is a perfect gift idea for any holiday or celebration! Your piece(s) will go through a bisque firing and a glaze firing before pickup 2 weeks later.

Bird Feeders
Saturday July 20th 10-4pm
Calling all backyard bird enthusiasts! If you love birds, or know someone who loves birds, this is the workshop for you! Create your own bird feeder for your backyard. We will offer a few design to choose from, or you can design your own! During the morning we will focus on the design and logistics of our bird feeders, aiming to have all of our pieces cut out before our lunch break. After our light lunch we will assemble our bird feeders and finish them with textures and underglazes. You will then return 2 weeks later to string your bird feeders together!

Mugs Mugs Mugs
Saturday August 3rd 10-4pm
Get a head start on the holidays by making a set of 4 mugs for someone you love! There is nothing like drinking out of a mug handmade by a friend and here is your chance to be that friend! In this workshop we will hand build 4 mugs with slabs. You can decide whether to make them a matching set, or entirely different. I will have different templates to choose from. During the morning you will pick out or design your own mug templates and we will cut out our slabs. After a light lunch we will assemble the mugs, make handles and decorate our pieces with underglazes. Your mugs will go through a bisque firing and a glaze firing before pickup 2 weeks later.

Make your own Butter Dish
Saturday September 21st 10-4pm
Circular, Rectangular, square? You can pick and choose from a few templates, or you can create your own design! During the morning you will pick out or design your own butter dish templates and we will cut out our slabs. After a light lunch we will assemble the butter dishes, make handles and decorate our pieces with underglazes. Your piece(s) will go through a bisque firing and a glaze firing before pickup 2 weeks later.

Tiny House Incense Burners or Ornaments
Saturday October 19th 10-4pm
In this fun workshop, come design your favorite house to use as an incense burner, or to hang on your tree! I will have templates to choose from, but you can design your own template based on whatever house you like! During the morning you will pick out or design our own house template and we will cut out slabs. After a light lunch we will assemble the houses, texture them and then underglaze them! Your piece(s) will go through a bisque firing and a glaze firing before pickup 2 weeks later.

Make your own Tree in time for the Holidays
Saturday November 16th 10-4pm
I have made several different variations of trees to light up my mantel, my holiday table, or my living room to bring extra light and spirit to the holidays. We will construct up to three trees in this workshop through slab, pinch pot and/or coiling to get the results we want. We wills tart the morning picking out the technique we would like to use for constructing our trees, taking into consideration whether we want light to show through the trees, giving them a luminary effect. We will use either porcelain or another clay body depending on whether we want to paint them with underglazes or whether we want to keep them white. After a light lunch, we will continue constructing our trees, finishing with smoothing and under glazing them. Your piece(s) will go through a bisque firing and a glaze firing before pickup 2 weeks later.
