Welcome to Em’s Art Shack! We offer weekly art classes to school aged children and adults, in addition to school break and summer camps!

Kindergarten Art Club – FULL!
Art Club is an all around art class specifically for children in Kindergarten. We will explore painting, drawing and ceramics!
You have 1 option for this class:
Tuesdays from 2:30 – 3:30*
*If your child attends Greenwich Elementary School, I can pick your child up from school and walk them to my studio! I then feed them a snack before we begin class!
Classes are limited to 8 students. These classes are for children in Kindergarten.
Cost: $60/month*
*Monthly tuition reminders will be sent out the first week of each session. No payment is required at this time.

Clay Club
Clay Club is a hand building class where we focus on coiling, pinch pots and slab building our creations out of clay. Each month I provide a theme and each student designs their own project. We start with drawing their concepts and then we formulate a plan for how they are going to turn their drawings into 3 dimensional projects. Each artist comes out with their own unique masterpiece!
Em’s Art Shack is located 6 houses away from the middle school on Gray Avenue! I will greet them with an afternoon snack before we jump into clay!
You have 2 options for this class:
Tuesdays from 3:30 – 4:30 K-2 kids welcome – 3 spots left!
Thursdays from 2:30 – 3:30 grades 3 and up – FULL!
Classes are limited to 8 students.

Clay Club for Homeschool Kids K-4th grade
This Clay Club is specifically for our community’s homeschool kids! This is a hand building class where we focus on coiling, pinch pots and slab building our creations out of clay. Pottery Club for Homeschool Kids 5th grade and up
This class is specifically for the homeschool kids of our area.
This pottery club focuses entirely on building the skills needed for throwing pottery on the wheel. Beginners are welcome, but they must have an open mind for learning through failure. Pottery is a VERY difficult skill to master, so having an open mind to accept that some days, the experience alone may be all that you have to show for your efforts.
Each week, our class begins with a wheel demo and I will work with each artist to help them to achieve that form. In addition to learning pottery skills, each artist will learn the ins and outs of the clay studio: How to wedge and recycle clay, clean up their wheels, load kilns and keep a tidy studio. My hope for this class is for artists to learn throwing techniques to build functional pottery to be used for a lifetime!
This class is offered on Wednesdays from 12 – 1:30pm.
Classes are limited to 6 students. These classes are for kids ages 10+.
Cost: $75/month

Wednesday Handbuilding Clay Club grades 5 & 6
Come join me after school for a Handbuilding Clay Club at Em’s Art Shack! (Grades 5&6)
I am located 6 houses up from the Greenwich Middle School, so your kids can walk to me right after school! I will greet them with an afternoon snack and a little free time before we jump into clay!
This clay club focuses entirely on hand building clay projects from design through building out concepts. This is a longer class so artists can take their time to focus on refining their skills. Each month we will focus on one project, setting aside a little time each class to brainstorm ideas and to hold critiques of current work. Students joining this class must have prior clay experience in any of Em’s Art/Clay Clubs.
Each week, our class begins with 15 minutes of decompression from the outside world. We use 2 dimensional drawing to help us come down from a long day at school. We then talk about each of our projects and what we hope to accomplish in our time that day. Once each of us have our plan for the day, we will get to it, finishing our day with proper cleanup and storage of our tools, workspace and projects, so they keep until the next week. In addition to learning ceramic skills, each artist will learn the ins and outs of the clay studio: How to wedge and recycle clay, clean up their workspace, load kilns and keep a tidy studio. My hope for this class is for artists to create pieces to enjoy for a lifetime!
