We offer 6 week Thursday Night Pottery sessions from 6-8 pm. We will cover the basics of Pottery – how to wedge clay, the process of throwing cylinders and bowls on the wheel and basic surface design when glazing. We will fire our pieces in my electric kiln and we will use underglazes as well as cone 6 glazes. Week 1: wedging and throwing 101
Week 2: handles and trimming
Week 3: sets of mugs
Week 4: bowls on purpose
Week 5: underglaze and design
Week 6: glaze glaze glaze
It’s so important to come in and practice in between classes so you can really get the hang of it. I offer open studio times for you each week to practice, which will vary on other class times.
Class cost is $350/session which includes open studio time and your first 25 pound bag of clay. If you have clay leftover from last session, your fee is $300. If you need more clay, the cost is $50 for each additional 25 pound bag of clay. Class size is limited to 6.
