Windchimes
Saturday March 29th, 10 – 4pm, follow up day to assemble windchimes (TBD by participants)
This hands-on workshop will guide participants through the process of creating their own unique ceramic wind chimes. Using basic handbuilding techniques, attendees will design, shape, and assemble their chimes, resulting in a functional and decorative outdoor or indoor piece. No prior experience is necessary, making this a great opportunity for beginners and experienced ceramic artists alike.

Mother’s Day Wall hanging
Saturday May 3rd, 10am-12pm at Em’s Art Shack and Saturday May 10th 11am-noon at Lot 32 Flowers.
Come spend the morning making a wall vase for Mother’s Day! Bring your own family lace or any other items to create unique patterns on your ceramic wall hanging. Then, a week later, meet up at Lot 32 Flowers to create a beautiful unique arrangement in your finished wall hanging!
No prior experience is necessary, making this a great opportunity for beginners and experienced ceramic artists alike.

Kitchy Things
Saturday July 19th, 10-4pm
Come spend the day creating pieces to use in your kitchen, from utensil crocs to paper towel holders and use excess clay to make butter dishes or spoon rests. Participants will learn basic clay-handling techniques, design principles, and functional pottery skills by creating a series of kitchen items. The focus will be on translating everyday kitchen needs into custom, handmade pieces. By the end of the workshop, each participant will have created at least one finished item and gained the confidence to continue experimenting with functional ceramics.

Mugs Mugs Mugs
Saturday October 11th, 10-4pm
Get a head start on the holidays by making a set of 4 mugs for someone you love! There is nothing like drinking out of a mug handmade by a friend and here is your chance to be that friend! In this workshop we will hand build 4 mugs with slabs. You can decide whether to make them a matching set, or entirely different. I will have different templates to choose from. During the morning you will pick out or design your own mug templates and we will cut out our slabs. After a light lunch we will assemble the mugs, make handles and decorate our pieces with underglazes. Your mugs will go through a bisque firing and a glaze firing before pickup 2 weeks later.

Make your own Tree in time for the Holidays
Saturday November 8th 10-4pm
I have made several different variations of trees to light up my mantel, my holiday table, or my living room to bring extra light and spirit to the holidays. We will construct up to three trees in this workshop through slab, pinch pot and/or coiling to get the results we want. We wills tart the morning picking out the technique we would like to use for constructing our trees, taking into consideration whether we want light to show through the trees, giving them a luminary effect. We will use either porcelain or another clay body depending on whether we want to paint them with underglazes or whether we want to keep them white. After a light lunch, we will continue constructing our trees, finishing with smoothing and under glazing them. Your piece(s) will go through a bisque firing and a glaze firing before pickup 2 weeks later.

Angel Nativity
Saturday December 6th 10-4pm
Creating an angel creche out of porcelain clay is a rewarding project that combines artistry with the festive spirit of Christmas. Enjoy the process of bringing a small, ethereal guardian to life, one that will bring a touch of handmade wonder to your holiday celebrations.
We will start the morning picking out the technique we would like to use for constructing our Angel or nativity, taking into consideration whether we want light to show through the piece, giving it a luminary effect. We will use porcelain which turns a very pure white. After a light lunch, we will continue constructing our pieces, finishing with smoothing and under glazing them, if desired. Your piece(s) will go through a bisque firing and a glaze firing before pickup 2 weeks later.
